Please note that friends and family can pick up your packet with a print out of your confirmation email.  Limited packet pick up will be available on Sunday, April 2 at 7 a.m. at the Oregon Convention Center.  It is highly recommended that you pick up your packet before race day as we will not hold the start of the race for any late arrivals. 


Parking is available at the Oregon Convention Center for $10, or there is parking available at the Metro Garage with entrances on Irving between Grand and NE 7th.  The parking fee at this location will be $6 on Race day. Street parking is also free until 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Half Marathon: 8 a.m.
10K start: 8:20 a.m.
5K Start: 8:35 a.m.

Age Divisions
0-12, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over


Your timing tag will be affixed to the back of your bib when you pick up your race number. All you need to do is wear your bib to be timed during the race. Please make sure to wear the bib on the front of your shirt (this is important for the photographers). Please do not crumple or fold your bib or remove the timing tag from your bib. 

Race T-Shirts

High quality race T-shirts will be available for purchase for $10 and will not be included as part of your registration. This will allow Albertina Kerr to direct more funds back to the adults and children we serve.  Shirts will also be available for purchase during race weekend for $15.  

Finisher's Photo
After crossing the finish line, head inside for a free finisher's photo. Strike a pose with your friends and family and download the photo later to save as proof you finished!

Finisher's Medal
Handmade finishers medal from Albertina Kerr’s Port City. Port City is an employment program that provides career and social support for adults with developmental disabilities  Every finisher of Race for the Roses will receive a medal. 

We welcome racers of all paces. Our course will stay open to accommodate a pace of 12 to 15 minutes per mile. The city of Portland restricts ALL running/walking events to this timetable to be considerate of commuters, residents and retailers as well as event organizers. If you are unable to keep this pace you will be asked to continue the race on the sidewalk for your safety.

Dry Clothing Check
Dry clothing check is available as a free service in the designated area inside the Exhibit Hall. Feel free to drop off your warm, dry clothing starting at 6:30 a.m.

Aid Stations
The half marathon and 10k course will host water and electrolyte at aid stations every two miles, 7 stations in all. The 5K aid station will be halfway through the course, at the turnaround point.

Strollers and Dogs
Strollers are allowed only on the 5k course.  For safety reasons, dogs are not allowed on the race course. 

Refunds and Tax Deduction
Unfortunately, Race for the Roses does not offer refunds for those who have already registered. Tax-deductions are limited to charitable contributions in excess of goods and services received, your race fee is not tax-deductible. The price of the race is comparable to other racing events in the area.

We welcome family and friends to cheer on runners and walkers. Some great places for viewing are:

  • 21st and Front Street
  • Front Street near the Waterfront
  • SW Broadway, anywhere between Harrison and Stark
