Albertina Kerr's Children’s Developmental Health Services offers occupational therapy services onsite, including specialized services for children with sensory-motor challenges. These services can be utilized on their own, or as part of a comprehensive program including other services.

Occupational therapists focus on daily living activities and tasks such as adaptive behavior, play, sensory processing, motor development, and self-help skills.

They help children achieve their full potential in the following areas:

  • Gross and fine motor development
  • Handwriting and visual motor skills
  • Self care and feeding activities
  • Behavioral organization and regulation of state
  • Sensory processing
  • Attention to task
  • Play skills
  • Visual and perceptual skills
  • Therapeutic listening and QiGong are some of the specialized areas

Our occupational therapists thoroughly assess each child and create treatment plans in conjunction with the family and their multidisciplinary team as appropriate. Treatment plans are tailored to meet the needs of both the child and the family based on principles of evidenced based practice, sensory processing and neurodevelopment.
